A Gentle Magic - Feature Film
I produced and co-wrote A Gentle Magic, a full-length documentary that explores a skin-lightening's resurgence in South Africa. Summary: From the stark white walls of Cape Town to the lush hills of the Eastern Cape, A Gentle Magic takes us on a journey through S.A. We hear from students, cleaners, hip-hop vixens, dermatologists, sociologists, single moms -- speakers of Xhosa, Zulu, Lingala, and French. We're made to feel uncomfortable, sad, joyful, surprised and perplexed.
On the Line
As a second-year master’s student at the UC Berkeley Graduate School of Journalism, I produced, designed and coded this investigative multimedia project about worker safety issues at recycling facilities in California. Click here to view.
Living With Day Zero - a Data investigation & multimedia package
As a student in Buzzfeed data reporter Peter Aldhous’ Advanced Data course, I produced a data-driven story examining how wealth determined water consumption during Cape Town’s infamous drought. Link to presentation here. Link to multimedia story (co-produced with Bo Kovitz) here.
